A humanoid AI, named Sophia, has become the first robot to be granted citizenship in the world. Sophia (Hanson Robotics) was confirmed as a Saudi Arabien citizen during a business event in Riyadh, according to an official Saudi press release. „I am very honoured and proud for this unique distinction,“ she said. „This is historical to be the first robot in the world to be recognized with a citizenship.“
